Own Choice March & Test Piece Contest

Own Choice March & Test Piece Contest that is open to all bands
.
The Own Choice Contest is split into two classes:

Class A: Championship, First, Second, Third and Fourth Section Bands
Own Choice March & Test Piece.

Class B: Youth, Training & Unregistered Bands 

To encourage class B participation, bands may perform either of the following:

 

  1. A March and Test piece.

  2. A fifteen-minute programme that includes a March.


Trophies for each section.

Draw:

A pre-draw will be used for this event.

​

Requirements:

Each band to play a programme that must not exceed 20 minutes playing time, first to last note.
The programme must include a solo item, the soloist must be a registered member of the band.
It is permissible to include an instrument other than a recognised brass instrument.
​
Competition classes:
Class A: Open to bands of the Five National Grades
Class B: Confined to Youth, Training & Unregistered Bands 

Prizes:
Class A:
Trophy awarded for First, Second & Third places band overall.
Trophy awarded for the highest placed band in each section.
Class B: Gold, Silver & Bronze awards
Entry Fee:
Class A £125 members/£135 non-members
Class B £40
